The Bund für Umwelt- und Naturschutz (Association for Environment and Nature Conservation, BUND) is one of Germany's largest environmental and nature conservation associations, consisting of almost 600,000 members and donors as well as 16 regional associations and more than 2,000 local groups. It is mainly financed by membership fees and donations. BUND sees itself as the driving social force for sustainable development in Germany and has therefore been committed to the environmentally responsible use of our planet's resources for many years. While the BUND's original focus on resources was limited to waste collection and separation and the recycling of waste materials, the association has now extended its focus to everyday consumer behaviour and the transition to lifestyles of sufficiency. Here BUND is committed to an ecologically and socially sustainable development.
